Quick Start - Web Platform
This guide shows how to use the Plans web platform to view your scanned buildings and prepare data for energy certification export.
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge browser
- Internet connection
- At least one uploaded scan from the iOS app
Step 1: open the dashboard
Section titled “Step 1: open the dashboard”-
Go to platform.plans.app in your browser

Sign in with your Plans account

The Projects Dashboard displays with all your projects

Click a project to open the project overview
Step 2: open the editor
Section titled “Step 2: open the editor”-
In the project overview, locate your building
-
Click Edit or “Open Editor” to launch the editor

The editor loads with:
- 3D viewer showing the building model (center-left)
- Floor and room list (left panel)
- Export tables (center-right)
- Element properties panel (right)
Step 3: navigate the 3D viewer
Section titled “Step 3: navigate the 3D viewer”Mouse controls
Section titled “Mouse controls”- Rotate: Left-click and drag
- Pan: Right-click and drag (or Shift + left-click)
- Zoom: Scroll wheel
- Focus: Double-click any surface
Select elements
Section titled “Select elements”-
Use the left panel to browse floors and rooms

Click a floor to expand and see rooms

Click a room to expand and see building elements
-
Click an element to select it
-
The element highlights in the 3D view
-
Properties display in the right panel
Step 4: view export tables
Section titled “Step 4: view export tables”The Export pane shows tables with all building elements:
Walls, Floors & Ceilings Table
- Lists all building envelope elements
- Shows area, material, U-value, B-factor
- Assign materials via dropdowns in table rows
- Apply material proposals via dropdown
Doors & Windows Table
- Lists all openings
- Shows area, material, U-value
Other Tables
- BBR Areas - Building regulation area calculations
- Linear Transmittance - Thermal bridges
- Measured Areas Summary
Step 5: edit element properties
Section titled “Step 5: edit element properties”-
Select an element in the 3D view or left panel

The right panel shows Element Properties:
- Area (square meters)
- Orientation (N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW)
- Inclination (angle from horizontal)
- B-Factor (thermal reduction factor 0.0-1.0)
- Material assignment

Edit values directly in the fields
-
Changes save automatically
Step 6: assign Materials
Section titled “Step 6: assign ”Materials are assigned via the Export tables, not in the 3D view.

Locate the element in the Walls, Floors & Ceilings table or Doors & Windows table

Click the material dropdown in the table row
-
Select a material from the list
-
The material is assigned to that element
-
U-value updates automatically
Step 7: use material Proposals
Section titled “Step 7: use material s”Material Proposals suggest better-performing materials:

In the Export table, find the Proposal dropdown column

Click the dropdown for an element
-
Select a proposal to apply
-
The proposed material overrides the current material for calculations
-
You can remove the proposal later to revert
Step 8: configure installations
Section titled “Step 8: configure installations”Configure heating, ventilation, and other systems:

Click the Installations tab area
-
Select the installation type:
- Heating Supply
- Hot Water
- Ventilation
- Solar
- Heat Pumps

Fill in the form fields for that system type
-
Data is included in the energy certification export
Step 9: view Notes
Section titled “Step 9: view ”Notes created in the iOS app display in the editor:

Click Notes or the notes icon
-
The Notes pane opens showing all notes

Filter notes by type or status
-
Click a note to view details
-
Notes are linked to specific locations in the 3D model
Step 10: export for energy certification
Section titled “Step 10: export for energy certification”-
Review all data in the Export tables

Verify materials are assigned
-
Check installations are configured
-
Click the Export button (top right)
-
The export file downloads to your computer
-
Open the file in the service you use to submit your completed Energy Performance Certificate to the Danish Energy Agency
Editor tools
Section titled “Editor tools”The editor provides tools for adjusting the building model:
Selection Tool (Picker)
- Default tool
- Click to select elements
Ruler Tool
- Measure distances in the 3D view
- Click two points to measure
Split Tools
- Split surfaces vertically, horizontally, or freely
- Creates separate elements from one surface
Add Openings
- Place Windows, Doors, or Hatches
- Click on a surface to add
- Adjust element geometry
- Move corner points to reshape
Move Element
- Relocate an element in 3D space
Create Surface
- Add new surfaces to the model
Layer controls
Section titled “Layer controls”Control visibility of element types:

Click the Layer Controls icon

Toggle visibility for:
- Walls
- Floors
- Ceilings
- Doors
- Windows
- Hatches

Hidden elements are not shown in 3D view but remain in tables

Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Editor won’t load
- Check browser supports WebGL
- Update browser to latest version
- Try different browser
- Disable browser extensions
- Check internet connection
Can’t select elements
- Ensure selection tool (picker) is active
- Zoom in closer to the element
- Try clicking in a different spot on the surface
- Check element is not hidden via layer controls
Material assignments not saving
- Check internet connection
- Refresh the page and try again
- Verify you have Edit permissions
Export button doesn’t work
- Check all required fields are filled
- Verify materials are assigned to elements
- Check internet connection
- Try refreshing and exporting again
