Complete Workflow

The Plans iOS app workflow: Create projects, adding stories, scanning rooms, configuring materials and heating, and uploading to the web platform.

The complete workflow spans three platforms:

  1. Login & Setup - Sign in and access Projects List
  2. Project Creation - Create project with address and building details
  3. Story Setup - Add stories with story type selection
  4. Room Scanning & Configuration - Scan rooms and configure settings
  5. Upload - Send project data to web platform
  1. Open the Plans iOS app

  2. Sign in with your account credentials

  3. The home screen displays with two tabs:

    • Projects: List of all your projects
    • Account: Account settings and preferences
  4. Tap the Projects tab to view your projects

  1. In the Projects list, tap the ”+” button

  2. Fill in the project information in the form

  3. Complete the project creation

  4. Your new project appears in the Projects list

  5. Tap the project to open it

  1. Inside the project, tap “Add Story

  2. Select Story Type:

    • Basement
    • Ground Story
    • First Story
    • Second Story
    • Third Story
    • Fourth Story
    • Attic
  3. The story is added to the project structure

  4. Repeat to add all stories in the building

  5. Tap a story to select it and start adding rooms

  1. On the selected story, tap "Add Room" or "Scan room"

  2. The AR view opens

  3. Wait for the on-screen message to show “Ready to scan…”

  4. Tap the red circular button to start recording

  5. Walk slowly through the room, pointing your device at Walls, Floor, and Ceiling

  6. If "Relocalizing" appears, move back to a previously scanned area until tracking recovers

  7. If “Move a bit slower” appears, slow down your movement

  8. When you’ve captured the whole room, tap the red button again to stop

  9. Review the scan in the preview

  10. Confirm if the scan looks correct

  11. Tap the checkmark to Save the room

After saving the scan, the room configuration screen displays.

  • Top of screen shows a 3D preview of the scanned room
  • Rotate and zoom to inspect the capture
  1. Find the Heating Source dropdown

  2. Select heating type:

    • Radiator
    • Underfloor heating
    • Radiator and Underfloor heating
    • Unheated
  3. Selection saves automatically

The Materials Section offers two assignment modes:

Room Defaults

  1. Tap “Room Defaults”

  2. Set default materials for:

    • Floor
    • Walls
    • Ceiling
  3. These apply to the entire room

Individual Surface Assignment

  1. Tap “Individual” mode

  2. Tap a specific surface in the 3D preview

  3. Choose material from the list

  4. Repeat for each surface you want to specify

  5. Unassigned surfaces use Room Default material

  1. Scroll to the Notes section

  2. Tap “Add Note”

  3. Type your note

  4. Tap Save

  5. Note appears in the list below

  6. Tap any note to Edit or Delete it

Bottom drawer contains four action buttons:

Ceiling scan

  1. Tap "Ceiling scan"

  2. Point device upward at Ceiling

  3. Tap red record button

  4. Move device across Ceiling area

  5. Tap button to stop

  6. Ceiling data is added to the room scan

  1. Tap "New note"

  2. Tap a location in the 3D preview

  3. Add annotation text, symbols, or markers

  4. Customize appearance if options available

  5. Save the annotation

  6. Annotations appear as markers in the 3D view

  1. Tap "Add window"

  2. Tap the Wall location in the 3D preview

  3. Adjust Window dimensions and position if needed

  4. Confirm and Save

  5. Window is added to the room model

  1. Tap "Next room"

  2. Current room is saved

  3. AR scanner opens for a new room

  4. Repeat the scan and configuration process

  1. Tap back to exit the room configuration screen

  2. Navigate back to the project overview

  3. Project structure displays:

    • All stories are listed
    • Rooms are shown under each story
    • Summary statistics displayed
  4. Tap the Upload button

  5. Monitor upload progress

  6. Wait for upload to complete

  7. Confirmation message appears when successful

The upload includes:

  • Project information (address, building details)
  • Story structure with story types
  • Room scan data (3D geometry)
  • Heating source selections for each room
  • Material assignments (Room Defaults and Individual)
  • Notes for each room
  • Annotations and manually added elements
  1. Open browser and navigate to the web platform

  2. Sign in with your Plans account

  3. Navigate to your uploaded project

  4. Browse the project structure:

    • View stories
    • View rooms under each story
  5. Click on a room to view:

    • 3D scan data
    • Heating source configuration
    • Material assignments
    • Notes list

The app shows helpful messages to guide you:
