Complete Workflow
The Plans iOS app workflow: Create projects, adding stories, scanning rooms, configuring materials and heating, and uploading to the web platform.
Platform overview

The five stages
Section titled “The five stages”- Login & Setup - Sign in and access Projects List
- Project Creation - Create project with address and building details
- Story Setup - Add stories with story type selection
- Room Scanning & Configuration - Scan rooms and configure settings
- Upload - Send project data to web platform
Stage 1: login & setup
Section titled “Stage 1: login & setup”Access the App
Section titled “Access the App”-
Open the Plans iOS app

Sign in with your account credentials
-
The home screen displays with two tabs:
- Projects: List of all your projects
- Account: Account settings and preferences
-
Tap the Projects tab to view your projects
Stage 2: project creation
Section titled “Stage 2: project creation”Create a new project
Section titled “ a new project”-
In the Projects list, tap the ”+” button

Fill in the project information in the form
-
Complete the project creation
-
Your new project appears in the Projects list
-
Tap the project to open it
Stage 3: floor setup
Section titled “Stage 3: floor setup”Add stories to the project
Section titled “Add stories to the project”-
Inside the project, tap “Add Story”

Select Story Type:
- Basement
- Ground Story
- First Story
- Second Story
- Third Story
- Fourth Story
- Attic
-
The story is added to the project structure
-
Repeat to add all stories in the building
-
Tap a story to select it and start adding rooms
Stage 4: room scanning & configuration
Section titled “Stage 4: room scanning & configuration”Scan a Room
Section titled “Scan a ”-
On the selected story, tap "Add Room" or "Scan room"

The AR view opens
-
Wait for the on-screen message to show “Ready to scan…”
-
Tap the red circular button to start recording
-
Walk slowly through the room, pointing your device at Walls, Floor, and Ceiling
-
If "Relocalizing" appears, move back to a previously scanned area until tracking recovers
-
If “Move a bit slower” appears, slow down your movement
-
When you’ve captured the whole room, tap the red button again to stop
-
Review the scan in the preview

Confirm if the scan looks correct
-
Tap the checkmark to Save the room
Configure room settings
Section titled “Configure room settings”After saving the scan, the room configuration screen displays.
3D Preview
Section titled “3D Preview”- Top of screen shows a 3D preview of the scanned room
- Rotate and zoom to inspect the capture
Set Heating source
Section titled “Set source”-
Find the Heating Source dropdown

Select heating type:
- Radiator
- Underfloor heating
- Radiator and Underfloor heating
- Unheated
-
Selection saves automatically
Assign Materials
Section titled “Assign ”The Materials Section offers two assignment modes:
Room Defaults
-
Tap “Room Defaults”
-
Set default materials for:
- Floor
- Walls
- Ceiling
-
These apply to the entire room
Individual Surface Assignment
-
Tap “Individual” mode
-
Tap a specific surface in the 3D preview
-
Choose material from the list
-
Repeat for each surface you want to specify
-
Unassigned surfaces use Room Default material
Add Notes
Section titled “Add ”-
Scroll to the Notes section
-
Tap “Add Note”
-
Type your note
-
Tap Save
-
Note appears in the list below
-
Tap any note to Edit or Delete it
Room actions (bottom drawer)
Section titled “ actions (bottom drawer)”Bottom drawer contains four action buttons:
Ceiling scan

Tap "Ceiling scan"

Point device upward at Ceiling
-
Tap red record button
-
Move device across Ceiling area
-
Tap button to stop
-
Ceiling data is added to the room scan
New note
Section titled “”-
Tap "New note"

Tap a location in the 3D preview
-
Add annotation text, symbols, or markers
-
Customize appearance if options available
-
Save the annotation
-
Annotations appear as markers in the 3D view
Add window
Section titled “”-
Tap "Add window"
-
Tap the Wall location in the 3D preview
-
Adjust Window dimensions and position if needed
-
Confirm and Save
-
Window is added to the room model
Next room
Section titled “”-
Tap "Next room"
-
Current room is saved
-
AR scanner opens for a new room
-
Repeat the scan and configuration process
Stage 5: upload to web
Section titled “Stage 5: upload to web”Upload project data
Section titled “Upload project data”-
Tap back to exit the room configuration screen

Navigate back to the project overview
-
Project structure displays:
- All stories are listed
- Rooms are shown under each story
- Summary statistics displayed

Tap the Upload button
-
Monitor upload progress
-
Wait for upload to complete
-
Confirmation message appears when successful
What gets uploaded
Section titled “What gets uploaded”The upload includes:
- Project information (address, building details)
- Story structure with story types
- Room scan data (3D geometry)
- Heating source selections for each room
- Material assignments (Room Defaults and Individual)
- Notes for each room
- Annotations and manually added elements
Stage 6: view on web
Section titled “Stage 6: view on web”Access on Web Platform

Open browser and navigate to the web platform

Sign in with your Plans account

Navigate to your uploaded project
-
Browse the project structure:
- View stories
- View rooms under each story
-
Click on a room to view:
- 3D scan data
- Heating source configuration
- Material assignments
- Notes list
On-screen messages during scanning
Section titled “On-screen messages during scanning”The app shows helpful messages to guide you:

|---|---|
| ”Getting the device ready …” | Wait a moment while the camera prepares |
| ”Ready to scan…” | Tap the red button to start recording |
| "Scanning …" | Keep moving slowly through the room |
| "Relocalizing" | Move back to a previously scanned area until the camera finds its position |
| ”Move a bit slower” | Slow down your movement |
