Managing Stories

Stories (floors) organize your building project by level.

  1. Open project to Project Overview screen
  2. Tap Add Room/Story button in the bottom drawer
  3. Select Story Type from the list:
    • Basement
    • Ground floor
    • First floor
    • Second floor
    • Third floor
    • Fourth floor
    • Attic
  4. Tap Create or Continue to add the story

The new floor appears as a card in the 3D Scan section showing room count (initially 0).

Available types:

  • Basement - Below-grade level
  • Ground floor - Main entry level
  • First floor - First floor above ground
  • Second floor - Second floor above ground
  • Third floor - Third floor above ground
  • Fourth floor - Fourth floor above ground
  • Attic - Top-level space under roof

Tap a floor card to open Story Overview screen.

At the top:

  • 3D Visualization - Shows floor layout
  • Interactive Preview - View from different angles
  • Tap to Expand - Open full 3D view

Below the 3D preview:

  • Room name - Each room listed
  • Scan Status Pill - Visual indicator:
    • Orange "awaiting scan" - Room not yet scanned
    • Green "scanned" - Room scanning complete
  • Heating type - Room’s heating system
  • Note Count - Number of notes attached
  • Tap Room - Opens Room Overview
  • Add Room” Button - Tap to create new room on this floor

Special annotation options (visibility depends on floor type):

  • “Annotate Outside” - Available on Ground floor only - mark exterior features
  • “Annotate Attic” - Available on all floors except Basement and Ground floor - document attic spaces
  1. Tap a floor card to open Story Overview
  2. Tap Add Room” button
  3. Enter room details:
    • Room name
    • Heating type
    • Any initial notes
  4. Tap Save
  5. Room appears in list with orange “Awaiting Scan” status

The scan status pill shows current state:

Orange "awaiting scan"

Section titled “Orange ""”
  • Room has been created
  • Scanning has not started
  • Ready to scan
  • Room has been scanned
  • Data captured successfully
  • Ready for review or upload

Each room displays:

Room name

  • Custom name assigned
  • Identifies the space
  • Type of heating system in room
  • Examples: Radiators, Underfloor heating, Radiators and underfloor heating, Unheated
  • Number of notes attached to room
  • Tap room to view or add notes
  1. In Story Overview, tap “Annotate Outside”
  2. Add notes about exterior elements
  3. Attach photos of outside features
  4. Save annotations
  1. In Story Overview, tap “Annotate Attic”
  2. Add notes about attic conditions
  3. Include photos of attic features
  4. Save annotations
  1. Open Story Overview for that floor
  2. Tap the pencil (edit) icon in the top right
  3. Change story type or other properties
  4. Tap Save
  1. Open Story Overview for that floor
  2. Tap the menu icon in the toolbar
  3. Select the delete option
  4. Confirm deletion in the dialog

Three-level structure:

  1. Project Overview

    • Shows all floor cards
    • Displays room count per floor
  2. Story Overview (Tap floor card)

    • Shows 3D floor preview
    • Lists all rooms with status
    • Provides ”Add Room” and annotation options
  3. Room Overview (Tap room)

    • Shows room details
    • Manages room scanning
    • Contains room-specific notes

Can’t add a floor

  • Check if you’re in Project Overview
  • Ensure you have materials set first (button changes to “Add Floor”)
  • Verify you have permissions

Floor card shows wrong room count

  • Check if rooms are properly saved
  • Reopen the project
  • Try closing and reopening the app

Scan status not updating

  • Complete scanning process fully
  • Wait for processing to finish
  • Reopen Story Overview

3D preview not showing

  • Ensure rooms have been scanned
  • Check if 3D data has processed
  • Try reopening Story Overview

Can’t annotate outside or attic

  • Verify you’re in Story Overview (not Project Overview)
  • “Annotate Outside” only appears on Ground floor
  • “Annotate Attic” appears on all floors except Basement and Ground floor
