Heating Systems

Document heating systems including distribution circuits, radiators, and underfloor heating.

The heating documentation system consists of:

Manage heating system configuration:

  • Heating circuits (Two-Pipe or Underfloor Heating circuits)
  • Main distribution pipe diameter
  • Circuit creation and management

Document heat emitters in rooms:

  • Radiators (with dimensions, type, valve information)
  • Underfloor heating loops (with manifold or RTL box information)
  • Heat emitter details and measurements

The heating system configuration screen manages heating circuits and distribution.

  1. Open your Project
  2. Locate the Heating Distribution System section
  3. Tap Edit Heating System
  4. The heating system configuration screen opens
  1. In the heating system screen
  2. Set Main distribution pipe diameter:
    • 8 mm
    • 10 mm
    • 12 mm
    • 15 mm
    • 18 mm
    • 22 mm
    • 28 mm
    • 35 mm
    • 42 mm
    • 54 mm
  1. In the heating system screen
  2. Tap Add Circuit
  3. Select Circuit type:
    • 2-pipe heating circuit - For radiator systems
    • Underfloor heating circuit - For underfloor heating
  4. Enter Circuit Name
  5. Tap Save

Heat emitters are captured at the room level.

  1. Navigate to a room
  2. Locate the Heating section
  3. Tap Add Radiator
  4. The radiator capture screen opens
  5. Fill in radiator details:
    • Circuit - Select from configured circuits
    • Type - Horizontal, Vertical, or Low level
    • Design - Standard panel, Plan panel, Sectional (modern), Sectional (cast iron), Tube column, Narrow column, Towel, or Unknown
    • Height and Length in millimeters
    • Connecting pipe diameter
    • Distance to heating source in meters
    • Valve - Manufacturer and model
    • Mark if broken
  6. Tap Save
  1. Navigate to a room
  2. Locate the Heating section
  3. Tap Add Underfloor Heating
  4. The underfloor heating capture screen opens
  5. Fill in system details:
    • Circuit - Select from configured circuits
    • Manifold - If circuit has manifolds
    • RTL Box - If circuit has no manifolds (manufacturer and model)
    • Distance - To manifold or heating source in meters
    • Floor area in square meters
    • Floor material - Concrete, Wood/Chipboard, Tile, or Other
    • Screed thickness in millimeters
    • Pipe spacing in centimeters
  6. Tap Save
  • Radiators and underfloor heating loops are captured individually per room
  • Each heat emitter must be assigned to a circuit
  • Circuits must be created in the heating system configuration before capturing heat emitters
  • The app does not capture photos during heat emitter entry - this is a data entry screen
  • Use the Notes feature to capture photos of radiators, manifolds, and installations

Heat emitters are linked to circuits during capture:

  1. Select the Circuit dropdown
  2. Choose from available circuits:
    • Two-Pipe Circuits (for radiators)
    • Underfloor Heating Circuits (for underfloor heating)
  3. The circuit must exist before you can assign heat emitters to it

To edit the circuit assignment later, edit the heat emitter and change the circuit selection.

Can’t add heat emitter

  • Verify you’re in a room (not at project or story level)
  • Create at least one circuit in the heating system configuration first
  • Heat emitters can only be added to existing circuits

Circuit not appearing in heat emitter capture

  • Ensure the circuit is saved in the heating system configuration
  • Check that you created a circuit with the correct type (Two-Pipe for radiators, Underfloor Heating for UFH)
  • The circuit list may be empty if no circuits exist

Can’t save radiator

  • Ensure Circuit is selected
  • Height and Length must be filled in
  • All required fields must have valid values

Can’t save underfloor heating

  • Ensure Circuit is selected
  • If the circuit has manifolds, select a manifold
  • If the circuit has no manifolds, enter RTL Box manufacturer and model
  • Floor area must be filled in
